Windschief
Published on Monday January 18th, 2010
Remember how I added an extra inch and a half to the ribbing of Windschief’s brim in case it wasn’t deep enough? Yeah. It took me about an hour to cut that off, recover the live stitches, and bind off again. Should have trusted the pattern. Stephen West won’t lead you astray, y’all hear?

Ohhh, sucky. Well done though, the finished product is quite dapper!! 🙂

I just LOVE this hat – it’ll be the perfect thing to make for DH for Valentine’s Day. Thanks for turning me on to this pattern!

My husband has been whining about a new hat and I thank you because this is it! Looks great on your man.

Augh. It was worth the effort–the finished hat looks great (and warm)!

A fabulous hat, and worth the effort. Your husband looks good in it.

Perfect hat! I’m forever making failed attempts to ‘improve’ on a perfectly good pattern, so I know how that one goes, heh 🙂 It really looks like a great hat though, and the yarn looks so nicely textured too.

LOVE it. Love that he’s donating 1/2 to Haiti too. And did I mention I have Malabrigo leftovers? Never has a pattern purchase been so simple.

Yikes, that’s a lot of ripping and fixing! The hat looks fabulous and very warm and cozy.

The hat is gorgeous. I will keep the pattern accuracy in mind if I make this for my husband.

It looks fantastic, even if it did take some ripping and fixing!
Alas, I’m going to need to do some sort of fixing to my husband’s skier hat, since the pattern as written appears to yield something more properly resembling the pope’s mitre.

I also modified the pattern and had to re-knit it a bit, but I was too lazy to cut off the ribbing. I had a problem getting the decreases to look nice though. Did you?

Stephen’s patterns are wonderful, aren’t they? I love how it looks in the Rustic!

This is a beautiful hat! I am on the lookout for hat patterns for my beloved at the moment, and this one is particularly lovely. Thank you for drawing my attention to it. The hat looks most handsome and cozy, as the does the man wearing it 🙂
