Les chaussettes rouges

Published on Thursday February 2nd, 2006

I finished the Pig War socks…

…and I’m just crazy about them. I actually finished them at the Spiders party last Saturday. All told, the knitting time for these babies was about four days, making them the fastest pair of socks I’ve ever knit, by far. I love everything about them: the yarn, the colorway, the pattern, even my funkification of the chart.

Specs:

Yarn: Fleece Artist merino sock yarn in “Jester”, my prize from Lolly’s Socktoberfest, generously provided by Allison of Simply Socks. Seriously, this yarn is amazing. You should go order some from Allison right this minute.

Needles: US size 2 Addi turbo circs

Pattern: Nancy Bush’s Friday Harbor socks from Knitting on the Road, except that I screwed up the chart as previously discussed. (Pssst…want to knit your own Pig War socks? Repeat lines 1-20 of the chart instead of just 9-20.)

I’ll let them speak for themselves:

Lovely, just lovely. I have that book and may have to give this sock pattern a whirl, since I can’t seem to get into my Embossed Leaves socks or the 4th attempt at Jaywalkers.
